How can someone "dislike" a pasta based on its shape. Pasta's pasta. Eggs, flour, water. Do they really "taste" different?

I think it's possible to dislike pasta based on shape - some just don't pick up sauces as well as others.

ex: rotini doesn't pick up oil based cream sauces too well, but when paired with meaty tomato sauce or a good pesto - yum!
