Never heard of it, but folk names can vary HUGELY. Does it look like mint? There are chocolate mints.

Generally, tropicals require less water than you think. Overwatering is the main way they get dead as house plants.

They're part of a HUGE group of plants thought to be native to Hawaii, but are in fact S and C American.
