Death_the_time_of_your_life_cover_jpeg_normal @ChicaLolita

Divide by 100, then times what percentage you want. There is a 'proper' way, but this one works too...

part divided by whole and times the answer by 100. eg, (2 / 4) x 100 = 50%

Dave_length_reasonably_small_normal @davelength

Divide the small number by the big one and multiply by 100.

Hello-2_normal @jim0203 London, UK

yes. Multiply by the percentage then divide by 100

Jfdtwit @JFDerry

if part greater than whole then you get more than 100%, eg, (11 / 10) x 100 = 110%

Make it into a decimal point, eg to get 10% of 500 do 500 x 0.10, 25% 500 x 0.25 etc.

what you have / total X 100/1

Jfdtwit @JFDerry

the reverse is easy too: what is 12% of 30? (12 / 100) x 30 = 3.6

that may not have been a good way of wording it. E.g 3 out of a possible 4 is 3 / 4 * 100

10% is 1/10th 5% is 1/20th 50% is 1/2 1% is 1/100th - does this help?
