We're getting Theo a big boy bike for his birthday. Where do I go? Is Toys R Us still the place? Or a bike shop?

we went to Toys R Us to try them out w/Eli and I'm glad we did-there was a big diff in how well he could ride various ones

Target has some, also Sports Authority,REI, Dick's and other sports/outdoor stores.
