"The Labour government manufactured jobs". What does that even mean?

it means that it supplied services to people, and paid the civil service to do so. those jobs that were cut weren't real.

By "tough times" I assume she means "when you suckers voted us in" and "evaporated" I think means "we sacked all the public servants"
