Ok geniuses, how do I poach eggs without a specific egg poaching thing?

Soft boil them & peel them. That's how we cheat here, poaching is too much of a faff!

Alexguest_700k_normal @AlexGuest

it's like a boiled egg without the shell

They say swirl the water with a spoon and break the egg into the middle, but I just pop it into still water, not too deep.

And that works? Sounds messy and fun! Can I do more than one in the pan at a time?!

Ah, that I've never tried. Is the egg nice and fresh and viscous?

You'll be fine, then. Free range and fresh here, too. Can't stand bought ones - have to buy them occ. when ours go off the lay.

Don't laugh but this is THE BEST method ever. Totally stress free. http://t.co/pE9oBUID

No racing sound and swirling the water. Gives you time to coordinate rest of breakfast - toast, bacon etc.

Pan of boiling water, swirl, drop egg into middle, cook for couple of mins to taste. Can do two eggs but 3 normally to much.

you have a pan of boiling water, and as you crack the egg into it you spin the water round with your third hand

know it's a bit late, but lots of white vinegar in the water, be gentle, fresh eggs, don't bother swirling the water round.

Inspired by your suggestion, we also had poached eggs for breakfast!
