...personally I start with all the bits where I know whats going to happen, then go back & fill in the blanks.Then rewrite...

If you try going from start to finish, you'll hit a block and then you'll be stuck. Anyway, thats my 2 pennies...

I write the basic story first, list the characters involved then draft out the 3 acts and develop that into scenes.
