If you incorporate, you can't be personally liable in a lawsuit. I think tax benefits too?

La1nkzm0yu0unqy2w9h5_normal @bluelimemedia

i don't think that there are any benefits.

Do you mean like incorporating as a limited company vs. sole proprietorship?

Jenndaisy_normal @Jennerosity

If you've incorporated & get sued, they can only take company assets and not personal ones. Different tax issues as well.

You must have very different corporate laws there in Canananananada. Even if Inc, most small biz down here are at risk.

No, I know, but I mean personal assets held in jeopardy, if you're not leveraging them for finances. I THINK.

Just be sure to get yourself a good lawyer to form it, BEFORE relying on it as a shield.

No benefits to incorporation vs. a sole proprietorship, or to being registered as a business at all?

La1nkzm0yu0unqy2w9h5_normal @bluelimemedia

The only reason I incorporated was so that I didn't get sued. Or at least my personal belongings wouldn't be up for grab

I don't think that my clients care that I call myself bluelime or christine

I just opted for a company name cause no one can pronounce my last name. I also wanted to look bigger which I don't anymore

The beauty of sole proprietorship is that you can still register a business name, or use your own, or both :)

there are tax benefits to being incorporated if dividends from your company are your only income (up to $32k or so)

Photo_normal @camcavers

it works out great for a married couple owning an incorporated company, you can clear over $70k only paying low corp tax
