I use the iPod as an alarm in to wake me in the morning. so I can't just turn the volume off. :/

ahh bugger, was thinking it might be an answer if like some phones you can have it on silent but the alarm still goes off

I have the sound turned off for my iPhone and the alarm still makes a noise. Is that not the same on the iPod?
