Can anyone tell me the functional difference between a producer and a project manager? #gamejobs #gamehires

as far as I know: PM: takes care of internal teams, Producer: takes care of external studios #gamejobs #gamehires

More likely to see producers handling multiple franchises or external teams. PM & producer are interchangeable, depends on studio

Depends on the studio, but in VERY general terms: Producer - more about managing people, PM - more about managing projects.

And sometimes those are reversed, so it's always important to read job descriptions and ask.

Though most often the roles are combined, especially at smaller companies. Also true outside games industry.

Often the Producer / PM difference depends on the studio. I've had both titles, same day-to-day responsibilities.

Look for "Technical Project Manager" positions, it may translate better.
