Use vaseline or neosporin. It helps to reduce the itch.
if ur cleaning ur stitches urself u may want to clean em first and then apply the stuff
u can't stop them from itching..means they are healing. Try not to scratch em.

wash it with warm soapy water and blot dry very gently
that means its healing.. Try lightly tapping it.. That's what I did when I had surgery..

Soak in some epsom salt and peroxide...3 cups of epsom and 3 bottles of peroxide. It helps with swelling as well...
